I’ve got a lovely wisteria climbing up the side of my house – I’ve never pruned it properly in the past, but noticed this year that it didn’t flower as profusely as it has in the past – does anyone have any tips on any specialist wisteria pruning techniques?

Well you’re just in time for summer pruning – don’t delay – cut back the slender green shoots of this current year’s growth to five or six leaves and you should get much better flowering next year

And then another prune in December. They like attention!

Yes otisbigdog – you’re correct I usually prune mine a second time at the end of Jan
