My neighbour has conifers along our fence line but I really want to plant flowering shrubs or climbers. The border is sunny in the afternoons so no problem with shade loving plants. Hope this is the right forum to write this as we are new to gardening and are trying to redesign our garden. Ant advice would be great.

Best to plant small plants or even seeds – suggested flowering plants are cyclamen, and crocus and aquilegia. Different ivies can make very nice climbers for what you want see this article about ivy

cyclamen grow well in the shade
