I dread to think what is going on in my lawn. I’ve noticed that over the last month that brown and reddish patches are ‘growing’ on my lawn. Any sugegstions about what it could be and how to solve it??!!!

    Thanks,
    Paula

Could be the dreaded Red Thread. Unfortunately, this year’s warm and wet conditions have been perfect for it. Try putting down a general/turf fungicide.

Ugg, yes sounds like red thread. A good dose of nitrogen should do the trick.

Don’t do a rain dance 😉 you want dry weather! Dry weather itself may actually clear up red thread. The problem will be that the affected areas won’t look as healthy as the others. If you go down this route then your best plan of action is to scarify and overseed in the autumn.
