Hi everyone, I’m new here, and to forums in general so please be patient if I make mistakes. I just wanted to know what the general consensus on Guerilla Gardening is? I like the idea, but being oh so typically British, think it should be done sensibly. Today is International Guerilla Sunflower Planting Day. My daughter and I planted two seeds on a scruffy patch of grass outside the front of our house- eek!

    Welcome to the forum @graciebumsmum
Good for you – but watch out for council officers accusing you of littering!! 😉
Personally when I have time to look after gardens other than my own I like to help an older neighbour

I like the idea of planting trees in random places

Planting trees in random places… Ash, sycamore, horse chestnut, beech and lime pop up all over the place and in my borders wherever they aren’t welcome 😒

I really like it as well, but you are not allowed to do so just anywhere

Wow I didn’t realise this. I live in the UK and I don’t think there are any sort of laws against it here. And even if there were, it wouldn’t stop me from doing it. But that’s me.

@shrubsy86uk I agree anyway you’d have to be mad to protest someone making your high street greener.
Have you seen the RHSs campaign Greening Grey Britain?
